Presented by Joseph Duffey (SV)
Google Classroom works well for your class, but what if you want to create a web space for parents or a club or activity? What if you want a regular website? Learn about Wix, a web-building platform you can easily use to create that space. You’ll learn about the free features of Wix and leave the session with a website in development. Want a taste? Check out Joe’s Astronomy page.
Participants will . . .
Create a free Wix account and make their own website on a topic of their choice. If they have a specific idea in mind, they can work on this idea. If participants do not have a specific idea, they can make a generic site and learn to use the basic tools in the platform. By learning the tools, participants can get a feel for how they might want to use this tool in the future. Teachers can create a website to run a blog for their class, or a gallery to highlight their club or organization. By learning about the program, teachers can also create assignments for students in which they could create their own website on a particular topic instead of a traditional presentation.
